From the moment he first spotted the post of Chief Executive with the Heart of Bucks Community Foundation being advertised, Henry Allmand says the process of securing the position was made effortless thanks to TD Group’s guidance.
“I was exploring ‘next opportunities’ in mid-2019 and immediately I liked the look of the ad – also how easy TD Group made the process by placing it on LinkedIn’s ‘Easy Apply’ which made it simple to share my profile with the recruiter.
“When you are busy, something like is very helpful – it showed they had thought about the candidate’s needs. It avoided spending hours preparing an application in case I was going to be knocked back…
“Then they called me – a very honest conversation to talk through my aspirations, details of the role, about the organisation, the scope of the role and what the Board was after.
“Then I was invited in to meet TD Group for an informal chat as opposed to an interview. I was made to feel relaxed and they provided more detail which was very helpful for my understanding of what was needed.
“Then we moved to the formal part of the process; being interviewed by a panel of Board members. Tony had given me all the right pointers – right down to timing and even the correct address!
“The final stage of the interview was with the full Board. Tony again was very supportive in steering that process to ensure I got all the subtleties of what they were after. He was very good at picking up on finer details, reading between the lines and relaying that to me to gauge if it was right for me and if I was bringing the right skills and motivations to the Board.”
Henry is no doubt who, now as Chief Exec, he would call if Heart of Bucks looks to advertise for senior level positions or IT roles.
“100% I will contact TD Group. I’ve worked with lots of recruiters in previous roles and I’d say that Tony and co. are right up there with the best.”
