An unrivalled understanding of the local market led to TD Group finding a Head of Technology who was “head and shoulders above anyone else” for fleet management services business CLM, according to its Managing Director John Lawrence.
“We went through a procurement exercise with five other recruiters for this role,” says John, “and TD Group came out on top on selection criteria – impressive given they were up against some national-sized organisations.
“They felt like they’d be the operator who was more likely to source a candidate local to our offices in Milton Keynes. They understood the local market and the fact we didn’t want someone with a massive commute.
“Not only that but they understood the cultural fit – that we wanted an individual who was in the ascendency rather than at their peak and looking to ease back in their career.
“Andrew Beard was a perfect fit for this high strategic role – head and shoulders above anyone else we had seen.”
TD’s contribution to helping CLM build its technology team did not stop there, as John explains.
“Subsequently, we recruited a desktop engineer who, again, was not easy to locate on the doorstep. Again, though, Tony’s local knowledge gave him in edge in finding Kojean Ngo for us.”
John has no hesitation in recommending TD Group for employers looking to fill technology roles.
“They’ve helped us to build a much firmer technology and commercial strategy for the business by finding us the right person to join the senior management team.
“What was really key for us in both the cases of Andrew and Kojean was that the main dialogue was into Tony – we weren’t being palmed off to a researcher. Tony took ownership of the process.
“He was always very responsive, not difficult to get hold of, straight talking and that makes the whole experience much more straight forward.
