BI Reporting Analyst SQL SSAS, Excel, VBA, Cognos

Our major national client based in Milton Keynes is seeking an experienced BI Reporting Analyst for a contract starting at the beginning of August.

The role of the BI Reporting Analyst will be to design, develop and document reporting requirements using SQL (SSAS), Excel, VBA and Cognos. Analyse initial ideas through to implementation across a range of incremental and transformational projects.

Key elements of the role are:-

The candidate must have experience of capturing requirements for complex reporting using Cognos TM1, Excel, SQL (SSAS) and VBA as well as writing scripts from scratch and rules to link cubes and presentation to Dashboards.

An understanding of SAP ECC and the entire BI/DW lifecycle from source system extraction, transformation and load (ETL), DW design principles and OLAP technologies would be a distinct advantage.

In addition to the above the BI Reporting Analyst will also be involved in some general business as usual (BAU) activities and contribute to the ongoing improvement of the wider Business Intelligence systems and department.

Essential Experience/Skills

  • End to end experience of BI Reporting within a SAP ECC enterprise wide client
  • Strong knowledge of SQL SSAS, Excel, VBA and Cubeware
  • Strong knowledge of Cognos TM1 v10.2 / TM1 Web / TM1 Perspectives
  • Experience of project delivery methodology and planning processes
  • Knowledge and practical experience of a wide range of requirement elicitation techniques
  • Experience of documenting requirements in formal requirements documents
  • Knowledge & experience of a range of methodologies (e.g. Lean, Six Sigma), Agile, Waterfall, DSDM, ITIL III.
  • In addition, knowledge of MS SSIS & SSRS and SharePoint would be a distinct advantage for future projects with the same client
  • Must be able to write clear and concise communications, with high attention to detail
  • Strong technical skills, aligned with good analytical skills
  • Must be a well-motivated, confident team player
  • Experience of using Microsoft Office Products
  • Must have good verbal communication skills to explain complex solutions to customers in a clear and concise manner, aligned with the ability to plainly communicate to all stakeholders at all levels within the organisation

This is a contract position with immediate start offering a competitive day rate and possible extension for the right individual.
